Green Hedge Realty Inc., Brokerage collects, holds and discloses certain personal information about its clients such as their name, home address and other personal information which it requires to communicate with and to provide services to said clients. Green Hedge Realty understands that privacy is important to their clients. It safeguards personal information and uses it only when needed in the course of helping clients buy or sell real estate. Green Hedge Realty remains accountable to clients for the means by which they collect, use and disclose personal information so as to maintain trust and confidence in its relationships with them.
Personal Information
Personal information includes a client’s name, address and contact information and may also include information about a client’s property as well as financial information. The Brokerage’s sales associates will only ask for such personal information as needed to provide the services its clients require.
Collection of Personal Information
To provide effective services to its clients Green Hedge Realty must collect certain personal information. This information allows the Brokerage to appraise, list, or market a client’s property. Most personal information collected and held is collected from clients through contracts and other forms clients will complete in the course of a real estate transaction. Other information is obtained from government sources that collect and provide land title information and taxation information. In addition information is shared in the course of discussions between clients and sales associates.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal Information that is disclosed or shared with other persons is done so to facilitate the conclusion of real estate transactions which are entered into in the normal course of buying and selling property. These transactions include offering a property for sale on the Multiple Listing Service, arranging mortgage financing and contracting to buy or sell a property. Additionally some personal information may be disclosed to comply with certain legal or governmental requirements or in the course of arranging property appraisals, conducting market analyses and to enforce codes of professional conduct. The personal information that is disclosed is only that which is required for any of the foregoing purposes. For these purposes, personal information may be made known to other Real Estate companies, Real Estate boards and their staff and members, government departments and agencies, financial institutions, legal advisors, service providers, certain real estate related organizations and members of the public.
Consenting to Collection and Disclosure of Personal Information
When a potential client decides to work with one of Green Hedge Realty’s sales associates, the person or persons will be asked to sign a representation agreement. This agreement explains the collection and disclosure of real estate related personal information and contains an area for clients to sign indicating their acknowledgement and consent.
Safeguarding Personal Information
Green Hedge Realty protects the personal information it collects and holds by having security mechanisms in place to prevent unauthorized access to or use of this information. Green Hedge Realty does not disclose, share, or sell personal information except where required to facilitate a client’s real estate transaction. Green Hedge Realty associates may also use a client’s personal information to contact them in order to confirm that they are pleased with the services provided or to find out how we may assist them with buying and selling real estate in the future. Once a client's real estate transaction is completed, personal information is retained only for as long as required by law.
Access to Personal Information
Should a client wish to confirm at any time what personal information the Brokerage has collected and are holding or have any inquiries regarding this privacy policy, they may contact the Broker of Record.
